About SEI
|
Springstead Engineering, Inc. (SEI) is a Central Florida based consulting, engineering, and surveying firm. SEI was established in 1972 primarily concentrating on serving the area by providing civil engineering and consulting services to local developers, farmers, small communities, and counties. SEI has grown and expanded over the years to provide turnkey services including: planning, design, permitting, surveying, and consulting. In 1980, SEI expanded to include a land surveying department. SEI’s primary office is located in Leesburg, Florida. SEI provides its services throughout Central Florida with concentration in Lake, Sumter, Marion, Citrus and Hernando Counties. Projects have also been performed in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Pasco and Indian River Counties. SEI’S technical staff consists of civil engineers, surveyors, scientists, and technicians. Most of the technical staff have broad experience working on local projects which enables SEI to provide proficient and cost-effective services. Professionals on the SEI staff include both Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors and Mappers. All professionals are registered with the State of Florida to practice in their respective fields. SEI provides a wide array of general civil engineering consulting services including project review, inspection, and code development and administration as requested by Sumter County. SEI also provides complete turnkey services from boundary and topographic surveys, as well as planning, project design and permitting, construction layout, contract administration, and final certification of completeness. |

Governmental SEI is currently retained by the City of Clermont as their Continuing Services Consulting Engineer. In fulfilling this positiont, SEI’s duties have included plan review for new commercial construction and residential subdivisions, analysis and design of the wastewater treatment systems (0.95 MGD, 0.75 MGD, proposed 1.5 MGD) collection and transmission of wastewater and effluent disposal; supply, treatment, and distribution of potable water from 6 wells and 3 elevated tanks on 2 systems; and design of streets, roads, and drainage systems. SEI has been responsible for drafting land development ordinances, reviewing new projects and site plans, design, permitting and administering contracts for new projects including drinking water supply, treatment and distribution facilities; wastewater collection, treatment and disposal facilities; streets and drainage facilities; parks and recreation facilities; office, warehouse, and maintenance buildings. SEI is also currently on a continuing-services contract with Sumter County's Public Works to provide consulting services in data acquisition, surveying, engineering and permitting for civil engineering projects. In Sumter County, SEI’s duties include, but are not limited to, land right-of-way and construction surveying; engineering, which encompasses plan developments, design, bidding and project administration, and project permitting through the DEP and Water Management Districts; design of streets, roads and drainage systems; rehabilitation construction; construction administration; inspection and testing; design and permitting of solid waste management facilities; permitting of water systems, wastewater systems; structural review of submitted plans for communication towers; and building design and construction administration. SEI also assists Lake County's Public Works, the Lake County School Board, and the Town of Lady Lake with various civil engineering and consulting services. Private Development SEI has been active in Lake, Sumter, Marion and Citrus Counties with the design and permitting of numerous private projects. Projects have ranged in size from small commercial site plans to large upscale residential developments with conventional construction homes and/or mobile homes; executive style golf courses; PGA-approved golf courses; clubhouses with and without restaurants, waterfront development, some with FDEP permitting marinas; water and wastewater systems, drainage systems; environmental assessment and review, solid waste design and permitting; water use (i.e. consumptive use) permitting; and representation of clients for FDEP and Water Management Districts. SEI has also been active in the design of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, and structural renovations of existing structures. |
